Wall World Strategy FAQ
Short answers to what players keep asking before launch: when Wall World Strategy comes out, which stores and systems carry it, whether it pauses, plays co-op or takes a controller, how saves and languages work, and what happened to the demo. Each answer names where it is stated and links to the sheet with the full detail.
Release and stores
Date, systems and the second store.
When does Wall World Strategy come out?
Wall World Strategy launches on Steam on November 11, 2026. Alawar, the studio behind Wall World and Wall World 2, develops and publishes it, and its own game page shows the same date. The date was revealed on October 22, 2026, in a Steam post that came with a trailer and a developer commentary video.
Which systems does it run on? Is there a Linux version?
The Steam build runs on Windows and macOS. Windows needs at least a 64-bit Windows 10 install, while the Mac version needs macOS Big Sur 11.7.10 or newer on Apple silicon, starting with the M1. There is no Linux build and no Linux requirements. Full hardware tables for both systems are on the requirements sheet.
Will it be on GOG?
Yes. When a player asked on the Steam forum in October 2026 whether the game would reach GOG, a developer replied that Wall World Strategy will be available there too. The reply gave no separate date for the GOG version, so Steam's November 11 launch remains the only date confirmed for any store.
How it plays
Time, company, fortifications and input.
Is it turn-based or real-time?
It is real-time. A developer answer on the Steam forum describes managing the colony on the go while you prepare defences against the incoming zyrex. You can pause time to plan, so placing buildings, assigning colonists and setting up turrets does not have to happen under pressure while a swarm is on its way.
Does it have co-op or multiplayer?
No. Single-player is the only mode on the Steam store page, with no co-op, online or local multiplayer category listed. Players have asked for co-op on the forum, both for this game and for the earlier Wall World titles, but no multiplayer mode has been announced for the launch build on November 11.
Can you build walls around your colony?
Yes. Besides the giant Wall the colony lives on, you can raise fortifications around your base for protection against zyrex attacks, as a developer confirmed on the Steam forum in November 2026. Walls work alongside turrets and other defensive buildings; the Zyrex defense sheet covers how the swarm attacks and which buildings hold it back.
Does it support a controller?
Controller support is not listed for Wall World Strategy: neither full nor partial gamepad support, and no Steam Input. A player on the forum pointed out in October 2026 that the two earlier Wall World games work with a controller and asked whether this one will. Until that changes on the store page, plan on keyboard and mouse.
Saves, achievements and languages
What your Steam account handles, and which languages ship.
Are there Steam Cloud saves and achievements?
Yes to both. Steam lists Steam Cloud, so saves sync between computers signed in to your Steam account, and Steam Achievements are tracked on your profile. Family Sharing is listed as well, which lets members of your Steam family group play your copy. Together with Single-player, these are the four features shown for the game.
Which languages does it support?
Eleven: English, French, German, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Italian and Spanish (Spain). Each one covers interface text and subtitles, and none has full voice audio. Traditional Chinese is not on the list, so readers who prefer it will find Simplified Chinese as the closest in-game option.
Demo and playtests
Where the demo went and how many people played.
Can I still play the demo?
Not right now. The demo went live on June 10, 2026, ran through Steam Next Fest and was closed in early July. A developer explained on the forum that it was taken down while the team keeps improving the game based on the feedback it received. No return has been announced, so the next chance to play is launch day.
How many people played the playtest and the demo?
Alawar's results posts give the numbers. The April 2026 playtest drew about 12,000 players with a median session of 37 minutes and lifted wishlists to 20,000. The June demo also reached about 12,000 players, with a median of 32 minutes, and wishlists had climbed to 36,000 by the July 1 results post.
