Scenarios and Sandbox Mode in Wall World Strategy

Version 1.0 gives you two ways to run a colony on the Wall. Scenarios take you across different biomes with set challenges, events and a story about where the Wall came from. Sandbox Mode drops the story and the clock so you can build at your own pace. Several difficulty settings apply to both, and zyrexes attack in either.

Schematic: a new colony branches into story scenarios across biomes or a Sandbox map. Difficulty covers both branches, and zyrex waves reach either one.

Choose how to start Pick scenarios for the story of the Wall and a run of biome challenges. Pick Sandbox to test layouts and defenses on a map of your choice with no deadline. Either way, plan walls before the first wave: Sandbox removes time pressure, not the zyrexes.

Scenarios across biomes

  1. Different biomes — New scenarios across different biomes head the list of full-version features in the release date announcement. Scenario and biome names have not been published before launch.
  2. Challenges and events — Fresh challenges and events arrive with the scenarios. Accidents, disasters and environmental hazards can disrupt a colony without wiping it out, and demo players reported rockslides.
  3. The story of the Wall — Scenarios carry the narrative. Exploring the depths turns up answers about the origin of the Wall and how it was colonised, and every discovery raises new questions about why it became humanity's last refuge.
  4. More to research — The same announcement lists an expanded research tree with new structures, so scenario colonies unlock more buildings than the demo offered.

Difficulty settings

  1. Several levels — Alawar promises various difficulty settings for the full game, and the Sandbox description adds that the difficulty level is chosen together with the map.
  2. What pushes back — On any level the colony faces the same pressures: zyrex waves, emergency events, and colonists whose morale falls with overpopulation, food shortages or broken supply.
  3. Pause to plan — The game runs in real time rather than turns, and time can be paused. That matters on harder settings, when a wave and an emergency event land together.

Sandbox Mode

  1. No story, no clock — Sandbox Mode removes story constraints and time pressure, so a single colony can keep growing for as long as you want to play it.
  2. Maps and conditions — Before you start, choose from different maps and difficulty levels and tailor the conditions to your liking.
  3. Waves still come — Zyrexes keep attacking in Sandbox. You set the pace, but concrete walls and energy domes stay just as necessary as in a scenario.
  4. A test bench — Alawar pitches Sandbox as the place to try different development and defense strategies, which makes it good practice before a harder scenario.
